This flight was flown during Covid times and so it reflects how Qantas adapts to the situation. Because of the Covid crisis, A lot of airlines worldwide has cut down their services, including lounge closure and also simplifying meal services however this wasn’t the case for Qantas. Instead, almost after nine months covid has impacted on the aviation industry, services has returned to how it was before coronavirus, while its opponent Virgin Australia is still struggling to do so due to its ongoing financial hardship. So, in this flight review, let’s take a look at how Qantas performed.
First, the lounge. Business class customers and other eligible frequent frees are welcomed to use the Qantas business lounge, which is located opposite to gate 4.
As a covid safety measure, the buffet section is staffed and food will be distributed by the staff.
I found a spot in the far end of the lounge to settle down as there is usually fewer people. There are also plenty of charging spaces. Boarding call was also made in the lounge for each flight.

With a seat width of 22 inches and pitch of 37 inches, the comfort was more than enough for this 2-hour fight. Each seat also offers a neck support, recline function as well as a leg rest

This particular 737 was refitted with an upgraded SkyInterior cabin, featuring a more spacious cabin 737较新的舱位(SkyInterior cabin), 看上去较宽阔和现代化。
Qantas has its business class laid out in the 737 in a 2-2 configuration across 3 rows. On my flight, the cabin was full. We pushed back 10 minutes behind schedule but then we were quickly on our way.
There was only one cabin crew serving the business cabin but he still tried his best to maintain an efficient service. Each passenger was addressed ‘sir’ or ‘miss’ instead of their last name.
On this morning fight, breakfast was served and the main consisted of a frittata, sausages, bacon and spinach, with a toss of tomato sauce. Appetiser was a pastry and to finish off was a passion fruit yogurt.
As for drinks, water, juices, coffee and tea were offered.
This was definitely unexpected as other airlines have cut down their service to a minimal
There is one IFE seat back screen on every seat but they weren’t operational. Instead, passengers were invited to connect to the inflight wifi and access entertainment vis the Qantas entertainment app. However, there were no any movies whatsoever. The only thing that was on offer was news. Apart from that, I also had no luck accessing the internet.

This was my first time flying in months and I was thrilled to have received such as positive experience. The cabin crew was professional and efficient. Qantas, as a national carrier, surely has the edge over its struggling counterpart, Virgin Australia. However, the latter focuses more on the soft product, which could be a plus for some travellers, as we shall see in the next review on my return journey.
